Five Stages Of Grief (2017)

As an artist I’m interested in the specific ability of photography in family archives to lay out an abstract narrative, projecting us into lives that we have never known, enclosed in glass emanating emotions. In a way that would be otherwise impossible, photography allows us to enter the story whenever we please, breaking down the notion of directionality of time and language, origins and endings.

The work here has been created using discarded family images bought from a flea market in Mumbai, India.

Five Stages Of Grief was exhibited at Mana Contemporary as a part of Pop Up Archive Exhibition, curated by Claudia Sohren (2017).
